What is the difference between Pacific Beachfest 5k and Sunset Yoga + Beach Run?

Pacific Beachfest 5k has 2 waves in the morning, one at 8:30 AM (for the early risers) and one at 10 AM. The 10 AM wave is our main wave and runners will finish just as the rest of the festival is about to begin.

New this year we added a unique wave called Sunset Yoga + Beach Run. Click here to learn more about it. This wave starts at 4:30 PM.

If I sign up for one wave, can I participate in the others?

You will only be able to participate in the wave you registered for. If you would like to do the morning 5k and the Sunset Yoga + Beach Run, there is an option during registration to sign up for both at a discounted price!

What is included in my registration?

For Pacific Beachfest 5k runners, registration includes: race entry, official race tank top, sunglasses, 1 beer in the beer garden (if 21+), and upon finishing a unique finisher’s medal.

For Sunset Yoga + Beach Run attendees, registration includes: run entry, yoga entry, official event beach towel and sunglasses.

Is there event day registration?

If the event does not sell out, there will be event day registration at an additional fee.

Can I get a refund for my registration?

All event registrations are non refundable.

Where do I pick up my race packet/event goodies?

There will be an early pick-up available on Friday, September 30th from 3 pm – 7 pm ON the beach in front of Baja Beach Cafe, 701 Thomas Ave, San Diego, CA 92109.  If you don’t get a chance to get your packet/event goodies early, you can also pick up at the day of the event in the same location but we highly encourage you come the day before to beat the crowd!

Can I have my packet/goodies mailed to me?

We will not be mailing any packets.

Can someone else pick up my packet/goodies at the Friday packet pick-up?

Can’t make it to pick up your own packet but a friend is willing to get it for you? Make sure they have a copy of your ID and your signed waiver. The waiver can be found here. Just print, sign and send along with your friend!

Will the 5k run be chip timed?

For the morning waves of Pacific Beachfest 5k, yes it will. For the evening Beach Run + Sunset Yoga it will not.

Where should I park for the event?

All parking will be street parking in Pacific Beach. The Pacific Beachfest gets tens of thousands of visitors throughout the day. While many of them are local, allow extra time to park due to the amount of people driving into the area.  There will also be a bike valet located at 750 Thomas Ave.

For a map of paid lots, click here.

Can I run with my dog?

Per Pacific Beach regulations, dogs will not be allowed on the beach at the time of the run, therefore they cannot run with you. So unfortunately you’ll have to keep your dog on the sidelines for this one!

Can I run with a stroller?

There are multiple soft sand crossings on the course and one small stair crossing so we would not recommend it.

How do I volunteer?

If you would like to join the festivities as a volunteer, we would love to have you! Email us at info@pacificbeachfest5k.com and let us know you would like to volunteer. As a volunteer, you’ll receive a complementary staff shirt, #PBFest5K sunglasses and a drink ticket (for volunteers that are 21+).

Does the event benefit an organization?

The event benefits Discover Pacific Beach, a non-profit that supports Pacific Beach community, the local beaches and its businesses. You can learn more about DiscoverPB at www.PacificBeach.org.

How do I become a sponsor or have a vendor booth?

To become a sponsor or have a vendor booth at  packet pick-up and/or on race day, email us at info@pacificbeachfest5K.com for more information.

Where I can find race results?

Race results will be posted to the website (pacificbeachfest5k.com/results) following the conclusion of the event. This only applies to the morning waves of Pacific Beachfest 5k.

Will there be age group awards for both waves?

Yes we will give out the same age group awards for both morning waves. Additionally, we will crown the overall fastest male and female champion across both waves!
